DOT Urine Specimen Collector Qualification Certificate - 49 CFR Part 40.33 Compliant

Course vs. Testing Service Notice

Looking to order a DOT drug test for your employees? Visit our Employer DOT Drug Testing Services page. This page is for individuals getting certified to become a DOT collector.

This Course Covers DOT Urine Specimen Collection

The program is specifically designed for individuals seeking qualification to perform DOT-regulated urine specimen collections.

It is not a general credential for every type of drug or alcohol testing and does not qualify a participant to perform services that require separate training, professional credentials, or proficiency requirements.

What DOT Drug Test Collector Training Includes

DOT urine collector qualification requires more than watching training videos or passing a short online quiz. This DOT drug test collector training covers qualification instruction and the initial proficiency demonstration under 49 CFR Part 40.33 compliance rules.

The process includes five consecutive error-free mock collections observed and evaluated in real time by an appropriately qualified person, plus the knowledge component required for DOT collector certification documentation.

Successful completion is based on demonstrated proficiency—not attendance alone.

  • DOT urine specimen collection procedures
  • Collector responsibilities under 49 CFR Part 40
  • Federal Custody and Control Form completion and handling
  • Donor identification and collection-site preparation
  • Collection privacy, security, and specimen integrity
  • Insufficient specimen quantity procedures
  • Specimen-temperature-out-of-range procedures
  • Collection flaws and correction procedures
  • Professional conduct and collector responsibilities
  • Five required real-time mock collections
  • Evaluator review of the proficiency demonstration
  • Written completion documentation after successful fulfillment of the requirements
  • Information about applying or continuing through the OnSite Employer Testing collector-network review process
