DOT Consortium & TPA Services in Savannah, GA

Savannah is home to the Port of Savannah's Garden City Terminal, a major container terminal, with trucks carrying boxes to warehouses across Georgia and to inland destinations. Carriers and drayage companies serving it need a DOT Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse program that keeps pace with port volume.

What is a DOT consortium / C/TPA?

A DOT consortium combines many small employers into a single random testing pool, so each meets the federal testing requirement without building its own. As your Consortium/Third-Party Administrator, we handle random selection and notification, collections, Clearinghouse queries, MRO coordination, and recordkeeping.

Why it matters in Savannah

Garden City Terminal covers about 1,345 acres and the port's facilities sit roughly 18 miles from the Atlantic, so inbound and outbound containers reach the terminals by truck from distribution centers and from rail. Drayage companies near the port often run on appointment windows, and a driver selected for a random test must still report promptly. Port growth has also drawn carriers that add drivers quickly, and every new CDL driver needs a pre-employment query and a negative pre-employment drug test before the first dispatch, so having the process in place before volume rises avoids delays.

Pricing

Consortium enrollment is priced by fleet size: $99 for 1 driver, $199 for 2-5 drivers, $349 for 6-15 drivers, $499 for 16-25 drivers, and $749 for 26-50 drivers. Fleets above 50 drivers receive a custom quote.

Frequently asked questions

How do we avoid delays when a driver is selected during a busy week at the port?

Selection is random and cannot be postponed, so the best protection is planning: tell us your drivers' usual routes and shifts, and we will help you identify collection options ahead of time.

Do drivers who haul to inland ports or Atlanta need anything extra?

No. Federal testing rules apply the same everywhere. All of your CDL drivers are in one pool, and the same records cover them wherever they haul.

A driver tests positive. What happens to dispatch?

The driver must be taken off safety-sensitive work immediately, and cannot return until completing the return-to-duty process with a Substance Abuse Professional. The result also goes into the Clearinghouse, where future employers can see it.

Can we start small and add drivers later?

Yes. Enrollment is based on the number of drivers you have, and you can update the count as your fleet grows. Our pricing tiers run from 1 driver up to 50, with a custom quote above that.
